There is definitely a grotesque quality to the art of Monica Cook. Through the mediums of painting, illustration and sculpture, her art engages with shocking subject matters often featuring plenty of nudity and horror. This includes dark and graphic visions of naked women being tortured; cannibalism and killer octopuses.
