Skin and Walls: Bold Tattoos by Street Artist Luca Font

Luca Altini, aka Luca Font, occupies two distinct parts of the art world. He got his start with graffiti, tagging walls when he was 15 or 16 years old. Tattoos came later, but both are created in a bold, graphic style and inspired by a love of video games and skateboard graphics.

Supple skin and concrete walls are totally contrasting surfaces, and it prevents a unique opportunity for one to inform the other. “Somehow I keep going back and forth,” he tells Silverlake Voice. “Each surface forces you to rethink your approach both technically and visually speaking, which is quite interesting as when I’m drawing something for a tattoo I often think that I can adapt it for a wall and vice versa. There’s a constant contamination between the two fields.”
