All of Daniel Zvereff’s art series display photographs accompanied with sketchbook notes and drawings. Although his pictures alone are beautiful depictions of locations like Greenland, Iceland, Canada, Alaska…, the notebook images are a diary of his travels providing us more insight. His initial interest was to document the arctic and sub-arctic regions of six countries, showing the changes in landscapes due to a lack of environmental preservation and global warming. However, Zvereff’s journey of about three months took unexpected turns—he ended up living in rural villages in Kenya. “Yet, the more zigzagging around the world I did, the more it seemed everything was connected. ‘Introspective’ became a personal Odyssey, one of searching for inner clarity by seeing and photographing the marvels of the natural world,” [1] he states.
