Nihalani’s Urban Illusions

As a child he was fascinated with magic, so it is no wonder that New York-based artist Aakash Nihalani has made a name for himself creating illusional tape art. His work of cubes, rectangular cuboids and other geometric shapes have animated the streets of Brooklyn, Vienna and New Delhi. Nihalani’s outdoor art has one specific advantage: “working with tape, my work differs from other street art in that it revels in the temporary. I like the flexibility of it, and that it’s not damaging to the built environment I’m working on.” [1]
