The Art of Freezing Soap Bubbles

We’ve all blown bubbles as kids. But most of us have not tried blowing them outdoors below freezing temperatures. Using a homemade soap solution, photographer Angela Kelly and her 7-year-old son did a number of bubble experiments in Arlington, Washington. “We blew the bubbles across the top of our frozen patio table and also upon the hood of my car, and then we watched in awe as each individual bubble froze with their own unique patterns.” [1] As you can see here, the experiments were successful as each orb looked like a beautiful frosted-glass sculpture.
