At the heart of Jung-Yeon Min’s art there is a contrast between abstraction and realism and between the microscopic and macroscopic. The shapes she manages to make and the colours she uses all help to create these dualities in her paintings. While they are full of surreal flourishes, they maintain a serious interest in what it means to be human.
