Cardstacker Bryan Berg took 44 days and 4,051 decks of cards to mount the world’s largest building inside the Venetian hotel in Macau. He broke his own Guinness World Record by constructing the largest house of free-standing playing cards [reported at Mail Online news].
More details about the project (from Berg’s website):
The attempt to build a replica of The Venetian Macao, The Plaza™ Macao, and Sands Macao buildings will use more than 190,000 cards and will take 44 days to complete.
Berg’s card structures will recreate intricate details of these icons of the Cotai Strip®, such as The Venetian Macao’s Rialto Bridge and Campanile Tower, and challenging curved shapes of The Plaza Macao and Sands Macao.
Overall, the composition will be 10 1/2 meters (35 feet) long, 3 1/2 meters (11 feet) tall, and weigh more than 227 kilograms (500 pounds). The cards Berg will use in this record attempt, if laid end to end, would stretch more than 17 kilometers (10 1/2 miles).
