I’m enjoying Melissa Hartley’s dark portraits and still-life studies. The two images at the bottom of post (i.e. Ziggy Stardust inspired) remind me of a 15th century Gothic painting entitled “Ecce Homo,” which is one of my all-time favorites. The gold halo against a black background give each art piece a dramatic feel.
