Bio: Adriana de Barros is an artist, writer, and poet. She grew up in Toronto, Canada, moving back to her native Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, at the age of fifteen. For 10 years, she co-owned a family business—a clothing company called Silver Coast and Baby Pins, and a copy center with design studio. Currently, she is creative director of multimedia studio Breathewords.

Adriana’s creative trademark is her multi-disciplined exploration of art, cinema, music and literature, which she incorporates into projects that span from creating film-like, frame-by-frame Flash visual poems to founding this online film and arts magazine, Scene 360.

Her personal and commercial work has been recognized with numerous editorial and design awards and honors. Most recent print mentions included HOW’s “Top Ten Links” (2003), Tashen’s 1000 Favorite Websites (2003), STEP Inside Design (May/June 2004, “Linked Up: The Top 10 Sites for Finding Design Online,” USA), Curvy and Curvy2, (2004 and 2005, Australia), a case study in design book “Identity Crisis: 50 Redesigns That Transformed Stale Identities into Successful Brands” (2007), and Digital Art's interview “Living the Dream" (2008).

In addition, Adriana’s paintings has been displayed in group art shows, and she has been an active speaker at events such as OFFF04 in Valencia, Spain, and Universities in Portugal.
